The Loch Lomond 46-Year-Old Scotch Whisky has been unveiled by the brand as its rarest product yet with a profile that's sure to satisfy even the most discerning scotch whiskey drinker.
The whiskey was first distilled in 1974 before being aged in American oak casks for 44 years and finished in Oloroso and Pedro Ximinéz sherry casks for the final two years. The final result is a spirit with flavor notes of brown sugar, cinnamon and cloves with additional notes of apple and pear thanks to the use of straight-neck stills in the original distillation process. The sherry casks lend a dried fruit profile with a lime, gooseberry and toffee finish.
The Loch Lomond 46-Year-Old Scotch Whisky is limited to 200 bottles at £4,500 each.
