Austrian designer Carol Christian Poell is known for using some of the most bizarre materials and fabrics in his designs and his new sneaker known as the 'Object Dyed, No Seam Drip-Rubber' sneaker is no exception. This extremely contemporary high-top shoe is handmade using calf and kangaroo skin. Carol Christian Poell achieved the distressed and vintage look of the shoe after having dyed it white and then dipping it latex.
While the shoe appears to look like a futuristic soccer cleat, Carol Christian Poell was able to make the sole of the shoe look as if it were dripping by using a 'drip rubber' application. This shoe is certainly in a league of its own.
Implications - In today's consumption-hungry culture, consumers are often looking for products and services to expand their personal boundaries. Products that provide consumers with one-of-a-kind or exclusive qualities will bear a very appealing value.
