A new employee app by Lowe's is designed to help "monitor in-store customer traffic" while also allowing store managers to "better follow CDC and local social distancing guidelines."
The app was launched in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic earlier this year and is part of the home improvement retailer's plan to increase safety measures. The app is accessed by employees via a handheld device, allowing for foot traffic tracking and limited entry to stores should there be too many visitors inside.
The retailer also announced its plan for contactless pickup lockers recently that will launch at all stores by 2021. The pickup lockers are designed to make same-day order pick-ups more seamless while saving consumers time and shipping costs.
