This watermelon and cucumber cocktail is an extremely refreshing take on a sangria recipe. Created by food blogger Jess of How Sweet It Is, the Sparkling Cucumber Watermelon Sangria makes the perfect pitcher for drinks with friends and family in the backyard or for a summery social event.
The bare bones cucumber cocktail consists just of sliced limes and cucumbers in chilled sauvignon blanc wine with soda. But for bonus points, you can add balled watermelon, fresh watermelon juice and even some watermelon syrup to the cucumber cocktail. The watermelon syrup consists of juice and sugar simmered and then cooled. For a non-alcoholic (virgin) version, skip the wine and stick with tonic water or a similar soda like Sprite or Seven Up.
