The new Swarovski facility in Wattens, Austria is described to be the "crystal workshop for the 21st century." The building is multi-faceted, allowing Snøhetta's luxe client to bring all of its production practices under one roof.
The interior boasts a spacious and modern aesthetic that effortlessly advocates for collaborative environments. Swarovski's crystal workshop will house design practices, product development, as well as manufacturing, in its new crystal workshop which will significantly better communication between teams and help in making production more efficient. In fact, the facility has already shrunk "production time for making prototypes" by half.
Snøhetta designs the factory to be flexible in order for Swarovski to adapt to advancing technologies and manufacturing practices. It sets "a new standard for inclusive fabrication facilities."
