COVID-19 misconceptions can have severely adverse effects on how individuals perceive or handle themselves in the pandemic and this can essentially put people at risk. Taking note of this early on, two scientists and a journalist launched an Instagram account and a Spotify podcast series to battle COVID-19 misconceptions in Indonesia. The educational content is specifically focused on revealing trustworthy information, pertaining to scientific facts, as well as economic, social, and political issues amid the ongoing pandemic. Since its launch in April 2020, the media initiative has released a total of 21 podcasts.
Furthermore, PandemicTalks also seeks to encourage the community to partake in battling COVID-19 misconceptions by reporting undetected cases in the community. They can do so through the Instagram Stories’ Q & A feature.
