I love the preponderance of tattooed male models, and I also am a huge fan of cage couture, so it's no wonder that this 'Contramoda' editorial for Statement Magazine #2 caught my eye.
Photographer Randy Capinpin captures model Cris Whitelaw in some bizarre yet fascinating avant-garde fashions for 'Contramoda' in Statement Magazine. There are giant puffy sleves, giant Gothic collars, gecko green gloves, and a killer necklace made of handcuffs.
Implications - North American society is moving towards a more egalitarian mode of gender relations. As such, the fashion industry is demonstrating this change by bringing out a feminine side in male models. Corporations looking to convey themselves as progressive may similarly reflect this egalitarian change through workplace operations.
