From Expressive Vacation Apparel to Shocking Sheer Menswear

'London Collection: Mens' is having a moment for feminized menswear collections. While Burberry Prorsum and J.W. Anderson took their girlish styles to the runways this season, these brands are not the first to do so.
Jean Phillip and Raf Simons were among the first designers to put skirts on the menswear runways while Ioannis Dimitrousis was a strong advocate for men in mesh and sequins. These menswear collections are not only restricted to feminine embellishment and fabric; in 2009, Romain Kremer put his masculine models in brightly colored sheer dresses for the S/S season. These collections also offer male-friendly crop tops which pay homage to 90s style.
Whether overly feminine menswear lines or utilitarian unisex uniforms, these menswear collections prove that fashion knows no gender.
