Two Spanish architects, Alberto Campo Baeza and Miguel Quismondo, entered into a collaboration to bring this monolithic concrete-clad pavilion to life. The structure was commissioned by the Magazzino Italian Art Museum in Cold Spring, New York. The structure is titled the Robert Olnick Pavilion.
The concrete-clad pavilion, "partially submerged into a sloping green hill," features a minimalistic facade with square windows and an L-shaped aesthetic. The interior houses a double-height gallery space. Alberto Campo Baeza and Miguel Quismondo strategically placed the windows in order to achieve an interesting sundial effect. The Robert Olnick Pavilion has two floors and a mezzanine. The space houses a café and lends itself well to the demands of exhibitions and programming hosting.
