This compact cabin design has been created by Raus and Sigurd Larsen on the Wehrmühle Biesenthal grounds just outside of Berlin in Germany. The cabin offers 193-square-feet of living space within and boasts a design achieved with charred timber, which gives it a dark, brooding appearance from both the exterior and the interior. The self-sufficient cabin is equipped with a wood-burning stove, a composting toilet, water tank and solar panels to capture UV energy.
The compact cabin design features ample windows throughout and is positioned to allow sunlight to enter at all times of the day. This reduces the need for artificial lighting during the day and helps to further immerse the inhabitant in the surrounding landscape.
