Mimicking the famous woodblock print 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa' by Japanese artist Hokusai, the Coffee Inn Flat White Coffee ad campaign is stunning to look at. Instead of the blues of the sea and the whites of the surf, this image is all brown. That is because it has been recreated with coffee beans. Nevertheless, there is a hint of white, which helps to tie in the tag line, "Less milk, more coffee."
Conceived and executed by Not Perfect | Y&R, an ad agency based in Vilnius, Lithuania, the Coffee Inn Flat White Coffee ad campaign was art directed by Gediminas Saulis with creative direction by Marius Lukosius. Nevertheless, the true stars of this campaign are photographer Tomas Kauneckas and illustrator Karolis Strautniekas who brought the amazing idea to life.
