Called the 'Shirt Circuit,' this circuit board can be designed and worn by children in an interactive way to teach them about electronics and computing.
The wearable circuit board is made up of a "soft grid of felt and conductive thread" that is sewn onto a normal t-shirt. Metal snap-fits are placed throughout the circuit board to work as areas that can hold the circuit components. When put together, an electrical current flows through the thread and the LED light components that are snapped onto the educational t-shirt light up.
By making the process of learning electronics playful and interactive, Clement Zheng -- the designer of this t-shirt -- has managed to find a way to encourage retention of information while bringing light to a topic of interest that is becoming more popular among young minds.
