Hollywood star Christina Applegate has donated hundreds of roses she made from ribbons during her mastectomy recovery earlier this year.
Just in time to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the roses will be auctioned by breast cancer awareness foundation, Right Action For Women. The organization is founded by Christina Applegate herself.
“I learned how to do this when I was about six, and then, for some reason, every time I get a ribbon in my hand, I start making these roses, and something I did in the hospital was make hundreds of these roses,” explained Christina Applegate.
“Then I taught everyone who would come to visit me how to make them… Anytime you would come into my room there would be, like, six people in there making these roses.”
I love how Christina Applegate has taken an active and aggressive role in spreading awareness about breast cancer and trying to raise funds for it. If more people, celebrities or not, would be so passionate about helping others, the world would be a much better place for all.
Check out the trailer for season 2 of Christina Applegate’s TV series ‘Samantha Who?’, which is just back on the air in the video section above.
