The 'Space Crystal' Building Looks Like An Otherworldly Rock

OPEN Architecture, a company that has well and truly made a name for itself for envisioning audacious and truly unique design, landscape design and architectural design ventures, continues to further its ethos with the introduction of 'Space Crystal,' a Chinese museum building that takes the form of a massive hunk of space crystal that's dropped out from the heavens into the Earth.
The 'Space Crystal,' envisioned for the coastal town of Yantai, features a shiny black exterior layer that is crafted with photovoltaic glass, which doesn't only give the building its otherwordly, sleek appearance but also helps to reduce dependence on the electricity grid due to the use of photovoltaic materials that have similar properties to conventional solar paneling.
This museum building also features other amenities whose enjoyment is heightened by OPEN Architecture's careful design choices. "The main entrance is located on the southern side, where the building cantilevers out the furthest," OPEN Architecture explained. "The multi-function black-box theater and the cafe can also be accessed from a separate side entry, making them accessible to the public when the museum is closed."
