For his series 'Candylebrity', artist Jason Mecier created portraits of Hollywood's most recognizable stars using only pick 'n' mix sweets.
Each composition took up to 5,000 sweets and 50 hours of Mecier's time to complete. Now that's dedication -- not to mention restraint. A lesser man would have succumbed to the allure of the candy, and thus, no portraits would have been made.
Mecier's subjects are diverse, ranging from pop-star-turned-train-wreck Miley Cyrus, bearded funny man Zach Galifianakis and the cast of Orange is the New Black. The characters from the Netflix Original Series about life in a women's penitentiary is definitely the highlight of the series. Mecier included portraits of all the fan-favorites, from Crazy Eyes to Pennsatucky to the prison's Mama Bear Big Red.
