A striking brutalist cube home adorns the landscape of the Alférez region, which is an hour outside of Mexico City. The structure, which draws attention to itself while at the same time kind of blending into its surroundings, was designed by local architect Ludwig Godefroy. The two-bedroom weekend getaway is aptly named Casa Alférez.
The architect explains his inspiration for the brutalist cube home: "The origin of the concept of Alferez house comes from the idea of a cabin in the woods and its romantic feeling of a protective shelter in the middle of the forest. I wanted the house to look like a cube that crashed on the floor among the trees." Inside, the home is spacious and design-forward, evoking an ethereal feel.
