For those those shy away from bread & butter pickles due to their sweet flavor profile, Preservation & Co. has come up with the perfect alternative. Instead of sugar, the brand relies on ingredients that have a natural sweetness to bring out the flavor of their crunchy cucumber chips.
In an effort to reduce the amount of sugar in its pickles, Preservation & Co. turned to Hefeweizen beer from Drake's Brewing Co. to create Hefeweizen Bread & Butter Chips. The natural sweetness of the beer and other ingredients like cider vinegar, allows the brand to use 2/3 the amount of sugar as traditional bread & butter recipes. The result is tangy pickles that are perfect for snacking or adding to a Cubano sandwich.
