The Brand New Paint Job project is an interesting project in that it combines the old with the new in exciting ways. The project was created by Jon Rafman and it looks at what modern rooms would look like if they had their wallpaper replaced with fine art pieces.
Getting a real piece of fine art can put deep dents in the wallet but being surrounded by modern art is still entirely possible. In the Brand New Paint Job series, the rooms are essentially turned into shrines of the artists by not only displaying framed pieces but surrounding those pieces with a room covered in their art as well.
The artists included are Francis Bacon, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jasper Johns and Yves Klein among a few other famous modern artists. This project shows that each artist's style can be used in unusual but compelling ways.
