With traditional books quickly falling out of favor with the public, a book art exhibit may not be on most people's mind. This art exhibit looks at books in a variety of ways including perfume form.
Books have a traditional smell that is unlike any other. Being able to know you have an old book or a new, crisp one on your hands just by the fresh smell of pages is refreshing. What artist Paul Schütze is doing is bottling that smell and making a perfume out of it for his latest book art exhibit.
In the display, the scent is sprayed all over a dark book that is also part of the display, essentially coating the book in nostalgia.
