Ganni Introduces the Classic Bou Bag with a BioFluff Build
Danish fashion brand Ganni introduces the classic Bou bag with the help of materials brand BioFluffm making up the world's first-ever plant-based fur material. It embodies a shaggy texture with no plastics or petrochemicals as the material's extraction is drawn from plants and other agricultural waste with enzymes that are also made from plants.
Martin Stübler, co-founder and CEO of BioFluff explains the process to Dezeen, stating "We source the fibres in Europe and create the fur in Italy using our patented process. We use a combination of existing textile technologies, science and the savoir-faire of the Italian fur industry. The fur 'hairs' are genuine plant fibres, meaning we do not process the fibres into yarn, which avoids the energy-intensive yarn spinning process."
