Ganni has unveiled the new ‘Bou’ bag, a sustainably produced accessory made from cacti waste and recycled plastic. The ‘Bou’ bag debuted during Ganni's autumn/winter 2023 runway presentation at Copenhagen Fashion Week, boasting a hexagonal shape and materials from Ohoskin, an Italian fabric start-up. On the island of Sicily, where Ohoskin is based, orange and cactus farming waste are blended with recycled plastic to make plant-based coated cloth.
The Ohoskin fabric was used to create the ‘Bou’ bag, giving the accessory a stylish and sustainable edge over most.
“This bag is really what Ganni is all about. We really wanted to design something that speaks to a modern luxury mindset. We wanted to create a really unique design that still carries the Ganni DNA, something that feels easy, playful, but still sophisticated. A bag made to follow you everywhere,” said Ditte Reffstrup, creative director at Ganni.
