Since beer and sports naturally make a good team, Widmer Brothers partnered with the Portland Timbers to make its Hefeweizen the official craft beer for the team. The co-branding effort between the craft brewery and the Major League Soccer team means that as the Official Craft Beer of the Portland Timbers, the multi-packs of beer will feature joint branding for the full 2015 MLS season.
Beyond making its partnership known through packaging, the collaboration will also have the stadium feature a 16' Hefe glass along with signage in the stadium and LED display advertisements. Since this beer and this team are already close in the hearts of many people in Oregon, this partnership helps to strengthen this love all the more.
