French winehouse Barton & Guestier has partnered with a Bordeaux-based artist named WOO to create new artwork to celebrate the company's heritage. WOO's piece will don a limited run of the Barton & Gustier's Bordeaux Red.
According to the company, WOO's painting was inspired by the history of Barton & Guestier's first cellar master, Germain Rambaud, who is remembered for his innovative and meticulous approach to preparing and preserving Bordeaux wines. As a result, WOO's artwork celebrates the 200 year anniversary of Rambaud’s work, depicting details from his winemaking process. For example, the WOO's piece features an eggshell, representing Rambaud's use of egg whites, which he used as a preservative during the 18th century when exporting wine barrels out of France.
