The 'Great Amber Concert Hall' Illuminates in Orange in the Night

The 'Great Amber Concert Hall' is a cone-shaped building meant to be a new international monument for Latvians. The building was erected in Liepaja, a city built on the Baltic Sea, on the westernmost point of the country.
The striking structure is designed by architect Volker Giencke, and its amber-colored facade is meant to respresent Liepaja as new addition to the world's cultural map, with the concert hall as its main identifier. During the day, different shades of amber can be seen, while its bright color stands out in the night.
The space is built to be a multipurpose auditorium, with mostly open areas. The Great Amber Concert Hall will also house rehearsal rooms, a ballet studio, an experimental stage and restaurant. The main attraction however is the 'Civita Nova,' a multiuse event space.
