The Amazon Biosphere Office Would House People and Plants
Michael Hines — May 26, 2013 — Art & Design
If approved by the city of Seattle and built, there’s a great chance that the Amazon biosphere office could become one of the city’s most-visited tourist attractions. The Internet giant is hoping to gain approval from the city to construct its ambitious headquarters, which consists of both traditional office towers and giant glass domes. The domes would be used to house plant life, including mature trees, while also being used for offices and employee socialization.
The three domes would total five stories and 65,000 sqf. The three adjoining towers would stand 37 stories and take up 3.3 million sqf. Although Amazon may not admit it, the company seems to be in competition with Apple for the prize of the most futuristic/out-there tech company HQ.
