Alto Arizona has launched an Arizona immigration law art campaign in protest of the recently enacted state legislation. Alto Arizona encourages artists who support the cause of immigration rights to submit poster designs to its site. Many of the designs are poignant.
Passage of the controversial Arizona immigration law SB1070 calls for state and local-level enforcement of federal immigration statutes. It also allows citizens to sue their local government if they feel the law is not being adequately enforced. The law is opposed by activist group, ‘Alto Arizona,’ which means ‘Stop Arizona.’
