Plane Landing, by artist Aleksandra Mir, is a sculpture in a “permanent state of landing†says the artist. The plane first appeared in Paris, and has made appearances at major airports and plane watching locations across Europe as part of the show 'Shifting Identities - (Swiss) Art Now', curated by Mirjam Varadinis for Kunsthaus Zurich. When the plane was exhibited in Switzerland, it was featured on the actual tarmac.
Implications - This structure provides museum visitors with a unique on-ground airplane experience. Visitors can now enjoy the advanced technology of today's planes and aircraft structures from the safety of the ground and can skip out on a serious case of jet lag.
