In a global billboard campaign by AEG-Electrolux for Noise Awareness, AEG has installed billboards with built in decibel meters so that passerbys can see the noise level. The boards have been installed in major European cities like London, Madrid, Berlin and Milan. However there were some interesting observations after these billboards came up. Kids gathered underneath the billboard often started screaming intentionally so that they could see the numbers rise. In another case a nightclub nearby one of the billboards has been publicising how quiet it was even when they were having parties inside. Although the billboards were put up to advertise for AEG-Electrolux's "silent" washing machines the ads are doing much more.
