The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-Themed Lunch at Lotus Restaurant

Dan Hong’s Lotus Restaurant had one incredibly themed lunch, or dessert-lunch, really. Everything on the menu was inspired by characters or happenings in the beloved tale of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
One of the menu items at Lotus Restaurant was inspired by the character Violet Bearegarde called Blueberry. For those of you who are not familiar with the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Violet Bearegarde was obsessed with chewing gum. At one point in the movie she ate some gum at the factory and she ballooned into a giant blueberry and turned violet. Blueberry is made up of crunchy cookie crumbs, blueberries, and blueberry cheesecake flavored ice cream. This dish sounds absolutely amazing.
Another menu item Golden Eggs was inspired by none other than the golden eggs the geese lay in the original tale. They are composed of roasted white chocolate soup, dehydrated chocolate meringue, gold flecks and mango puree eggs. This dish looks like a beautiful work of art.
And what would a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-themed lunch be without something inspired by the Oompa Loompas? The Oompa Loompa Ice Cream Sundae with "chocolate river" was crafted out of pan dan ice cream, soft choc chip cookie, honeycomb, crumbled pretzels, mini marshmallows, raspberry coulis and chocolate fudge sauce.
Everything on this menu at Lotus Restaurant looks absolutely delicious! Just looking at these desserts makes me feel like a kid again and has me reminiscing about the Willy Wonka and his scrumptious factory.
