From Supermodel Transformations to Emotional LGBT Shots
Marie — December 2, 2011 — Pop Culture
Fashion has consistently, over the last several decades, welcomed androgynous looks and gender play with open arms, so it comes with little surprise that pro-transgender photoshoots continue to become more popular in major publications worldwide.
Trans model Lea T has been no stranger to the fashion world this year, with her most recent success being the cover shoot and editorial for Elle Brazil's December 2011 issue. With killer looks and an incredible physique, it's no wonder she's turning heads on and off the runway. A constant ally to the LGBTQ community, Lady Gaga made a splash in 2010 as she debuted her 'Jo Calderone' persona in Vogues Hommes Japan and has recently appeared in shoots by Terry Richardson as the female-to-male character.
After looking through these incredible pro-transgender photoshoots, I can only say that I hope to see even more magazines embracing this look, with stunning models fierce enough to compete with even Tyra herself.
