From Santorum-san the Japanese Girl to George Bush Toilets
Harris Jay Rosenberg Alterman — March 27, 2012 — Pop Culture
As the 2012 presidential election approaches, so does the wave of republican-mocking blogs, videos and products. Making fun of the conservatives really took off in the 2008 election when Sarah Palin entered the picture. With her arrival, the bar was set high for a new round of candidates. Now the faces of Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney and others have become the center of attention (and hilarious ridicule).
The Internet has become a frenzy of republican-mocking items including a remixed rap video starring Mitt Romney as Eminem. Others have turned Rick Santorum into a Japanese school girl, while one chef even made a special burger for each republican candidate running for office. As the election gets closer, only more republican mockeries will rise.
