It’s exceptionally difficult to pursue a career as a professional racecar driver, but if you have enough cash to spare, it’s fairly easy to be one for a day.
A number of venues hold two- or three-day courses in advanced driving skills that culminate with a few spins around real race tracks. If you’re looking for a more luxurious experience, Bentley and Lamborghini each have their own winter courses that let you do donuts in six-figure supercars.
If you’re not quite ready to take on the risks of traveling at triple-digit speeds in someone else’s car, I’ve also included a piece on Segway rally races so you can have all of the fun of off-road racing without the risk of serious injury.
