From Obama Tattoos to Chewbacca Depictions
Jonathon Brown — January 29, 2013 — Pop Culture
Portrait tattoos are a popular choice for body ink aficionados. There was recently news that Drake had his uncle and late grandmother's portraits tattooed on his back. Some people, like Drake, choose to use portrait tattoos as a way of paying tribute to loved ones after they've died. However, others use portrait tattoos to pay tribute to cartoons, pop culture figures or politicians.
Take the Obama portrait for instance. This tattoo got inked before Obama was even elected President of the United States. At the time, he was just a candidate. Whoever got the this tattoo must have had a lot of confidence in Barack, because if he didn't win the election this tattoo would mean a lot less.
