From Celebrity Meme T-Shirts to Net Neutrality Petitions
Laura McQuarrie — October 29, 2014 — Pop Culture
Unsurprisingly, a huge number of the top October 2014 Internet ideas are all about the funny. Last month, when the iPhone 6 Plus #Bendgate scandal happened, the web was set ablaze with funny brand tweets and photos in response. This also caused the tech company to be compared with a number of other brands, as seen in the humorous 'Siri vs. Starbucks' blog.
Aside from all of the laughs, on a more serious note, the anti-Facebook social network Ello got a huge boost after the giant social networking site caused a stir among the drag community, discouraging the community from using their stage names on their profiles. Another huge issue that causes us to question the future of Internet usage includes the Net Neutrality debate, which raised awareness last month with debates, petitions and Go Slow Day.
