As mobile technology continues to improve, so are mobile map features. Navigation app creators continue to integrate cutting edge technology in order to make apps that provide more than just wayfinding capabilities. This involves fulfilling other needs that may be tangential to navigation, one such need being speed camera detection in Google Maps. Google Maps released a feature that allows drivers to detect speed cameras, so drivers can adjust their speed accordingly, ensuring safer driving practices.
Another versatile mobile navigation app example is Waze's integration of Google Assistant. The integration allows users to have full access to Google Assitant's features while driving -- including playing music, hands-free messaging and phone calls.
Lastly, Google adds more mobile map features with its Incognito Mode for maps, giving users increased functionality by enabling a private navigation feature.
