The Danish designer Jean//phillip has rolled out a very interesting Spring/Summer 2011 menswear collection. Many of the pieces have feminine features such as sheer, flowing fabrics, along with a certain item that resembles a pant/skirt hybrid, featuring a super-elongated crotch.
I feel like only a select handful of guys could pull off these Jean//phillip looks. The deconstructed and oversized cardigans do look super cozy though!
Implications - The market for menswear that defies convention and tradition behind men's clothing is an expanding market on account of the growing desire of the general public to capture a unique style in their fashion choices. Although not for everyone, the consumer base that these styles appeal to is determined to find the freshest and most original style, and designers and stores that appeal to this niche market will see substantial profit and consumption levels.
