From Weightless Timber Tables to Flat Foldable Furniture

These extremely lightweight furniture design examples bring total ease of mobility to users with innovative materials. Forms of these tables and chairs are fairly conventional, but their virtual weightlessness is truly what makes these creations awe-inspiring.
As more spaces are built to be flexible and open-concept, furniture designs must also reflect this need and become much easier to move from one location to another.
Two phenomenal examples of furniture pieces that hardly weigh anything include the Membrane Chair by Benjamin Hubert, which weighs in at just three kilograms and a lightweight wooden table by Ruben Beckers that comes in at four-and-a-half kilograms. Both of these incredible furniture pieces demonstrate their weightlessness by having models lift them effortlessly with one hand.
