PetSmart, a pet supplies and services retailer based in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico, has launched two recycling programs to facilitate the proper disposal of end-of-life pet products. The new Wet Paw Join the Loop takeback program and TerraCycle pet food bag takeback program offer unique disposal services dependent on consumer needs. The first of the two offerings, the Wet Paw Join the Loop takeback program, allows owners to dispose of old toys so they can be repurposed to create Zogoflex and Seaflex toys. This service will be offered across 75 PetSmart locations.
Similarly, the TerraCycle pet food takeback program helps owners return pet food bags for reuse and recycling. This service will be offered at 100 PetSmart stores, with plans to expand enterprise-wide.
