June 5th marks World Environment Day in 2014, which is still a ways away, but ahead of it, four celebrities are lending their voices to the UN to raise awareness on some important issues ahead of time.
This year, the United Nations Environmental Programme's theme for World Environment Day is "Raise Your Voice, not the Sea Level." To break this big issue into more manageable pieces, celebrities who are speaking up for the cause are tackling a single issue each, making it much easier for people to concentrate their efforts.
The WED Challenge is asking people to pick a team to be on, whether it's pledging to reduce food waste with Gisele Bündchen, powering down with Don Cheadle, fighting plastic waste with Yaya Touré, or supporting sustainable businesses with Ian Somerhalder, and share efforts with the #WorldEnvironmentDay and #WED2014 tags online.
