A New York City-based graphic designer by the name of James Campbell Taylor decided to re-imagine each World Cup poster from 1930 to 2014. The popular soccer tournament is coming up this summer in Brazil, so Taylor's project couldn't have arrived at a better time.
The designer looked back at over 84 years of soccer posters and their designs. He took the different and historic design aspects and reinterpreted them into his own versions. Even though he included his own methods of design, the posters still stay true to the originals. They have a vintage aesthetic and Taylor even made them look realistic by including "paper creases." It's comical to see the evolution in design; the poster from 1930 is obviously hand-drawn and cartoon-like, and the most recent poster looks lifelike.
