Pepsi is getting inspired by its past, launching a new line of nostalgic vintage soda pops called '1983.' The cola megabrand got the name for its new soda from the year the brand started with founder, Caleb Bradham. The new "vintage soda" will focus on the story of Mr. Bradham -- who owned a drug store and eventually created Pepsi from water, sugar, caramel, lemon oil and nutmeg, among other natural ingredients.
The simplicity of the name and branding aims to play into Millennials' love of nostalgia, catering to their organic interests by promoting the natural ingredients in the drink. The brand is not new to using this tactic as it created "Caleb's Kola" in 2014 that marketed its cane sugar, African kola nuts and spice ingredients to give it an exotic image.
