Plant-Based Bolognese Sauces

FreshnFree’s Vegetable Bolognese is Oil-Free, Dairy-Free & Meatless

Bolognese is a well-known meat-based sauce that originated in Bologna, Italy, and FreshnFree is now reinterpreting the classic pasta sauce as a plant-based, vegan-friendly Vegetable Bolognese.

The beefless sauce boasts a simple ingredient list that includes tomatoes, cauliflower, mushrooms, onions, carrots, walnuts, vermouth, sun-dried tomatoes, tomato paste, garlic, nutritional yeast, plus various seasonings and spices to mimic the taste of the authentic sauce.

Marie Rama co-authored various books like Cooking for Dummies, Grilling for Dummies and Bacon Nation, but was inspired to make a large dietary change after her husband Mark was diagnosed with heart disease. Marie and Mark's plant-based, whole food, no-oil approach to eating is reflected in FreshnFree, which is vegan, gluten-free, oil-free and dairy-free. Additionally, the free-from sauce does without butter, sugar, artificial preservatives and water.
