Vail Nest is an unorthodox playground that could easily be mistaken for an art installation. It is made up of cocoon-like structures that were actually inspired by surrounding bird habitats, hence its name. Located in The Town of Vail, Colorado, the Vail Nest playground was created as part of the artist-commissioned park series and program.
Designed by tres birds workshop, the Vail Nest playground is made up of three main 'nests' that are connected via ropes, bridges and even a climbing wall. It is made using a variety of wood species and stainless steel mesh fabric. Treated with nontoxic finishes, the Vail Nest playground provides a fun distraction for children of all ages as well as capabilities. It is an accessible site.
