Urbanus Architects are a China-based firm, who recently worked on a pavilion based in Barcelona and constructed on the theme of "identity." The structure is situated outside of the famous Sagrada Familia, further adding to the artistic integrity of the city.
The installation is made from bamboo, with geometric openings throughout, allowing people to see through to the other side. Other than being set in this area for purely aesthetic reasons, the pavilion is also meant to bring people together for a central meeting spot. Considering its distinct nature, it would be relatively easy to encourage people to convene here, as it's hard to miss.
Barcelona is a city full of art due to the popularity of Gaudi, so it's not surprising to see even more artistic pieces flourish in the metropolis. Photo Credits: designboom, tricentenari.bcnt
