Essity's Tork VR Clean Hands Training app was developed with hand hygiene experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre on Patient Safety to make hand hygiene training more engaging for healthcare professionals. Based on a survey that revealed 80% of healthcare professionals would like to improve their hand hygiene compliance, Essity created a virtual reality experience that lets users take on the role of a physician or a nurse.
The VR experience offers an interactive exploration of WHO's five moments of hand hygiene, as well as a game on correct techniques. After putting on a headset, users will begin their virtual shift and encounter real-life scenarios that will test their ability to put knowledge into practice. The app is currently available for both iOS and Android devices.
