Vancouver-based toy startup TOYMINT is exploring the future of collectible toys by only giving people the chance to get their hands on a limited-edition toy when they purchase the matching NFT art. The premium collectibles can be found on the OpenSea marketplace and there are three NFTs inspired by three toys.
Working in collaboration with Italian artist Claudio Bellini, TOYMINT created toys in ultra-rare Genesis Edition—there are a pair of CNC-machined walnut toy cars and a teddy bear with a necklace. The collectibles are kid-friendly, made with sustainable materials and verifiable on the blockchain. With its next-gen collectibles, TOYMINT founder and CEO Zoran Kovacevic says, "We want toys to grow in value so that families over time end up with a valuable toy collection."
