As an alternative to packaging tomato paste by the can, Hunt's introduced a 'Recipe Ready' pouch that provides just enough to add flavor to a single recipe.
Normally, tomato paste is sold in six-ounce cans, which provides a generous amount of product, but potentially also more product than a consumer needs that will only go to waste. This pouch contains a much smaller amount, which is spelled out to consumers in cooking terms as two tablespoons.
At this year's Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards, Hunt's Recipe Ready tomato paste pouch received four awards, including: Gold in the Extending the Use of Flexible Packaging, Packaging Excellence and Sustainability, as well as Silver in Printing and Shelf Impact.
