Meet the Lofted Forest Home. Living in treehouses isn't just a childhood fantasy -- it's a reality for a growing number of people. Elevated arboreal architecture is something that merges the love of lofts with an inborn need to connect with nature.
Rover Harvey Oshatz designed the Lofted Forest Home on request of the home owner; together, they came up with the idea inspired by the “fluidity and complexity of music.”
The Wilkinson Residence, which lies in Portland, Oregon, was designed in 1997 and completed in 2004.
The Lofted Forest Home pictures in the gallery show the structure's immersion with nature, depicting plenty of real wood and stone in its architecture.
"Even where metal was used, it was allowed to weather naturally, developing a rust colored patina. Most of the living space is located in the flared, upper 'loft' portion of the home, where Oshatz hoped to achieve a sense of intimacy in the forest canopy," SwipeLife explains.
