Danish design studio CF Møller Architects has completed the design of the Tampere Psychiatric Clinic. It is located in Finland and it is defined by its calm spaces that are meant to aid patients' wellbeing. The structure overlooks a pine forest that contributes to the tranquil ambiance. The team was inspired by the notion of a 'healing architecture' which is an approach that is based on research on the impact of architecture on wellbeing.
The studio partner Maibritt Dammann and the associate partner Mårten Leringe speak about the design project, sharing "Every element, from spatial organisation to material choices, was tailored to enhance recovery and wellbeing. The clinic's placement amidst pine forests and the inclusion of outdoor spaces, such as courtyards and private balconies, highlight the healing benefits of nature, enhancing mental wellbeing and embodying the principles of healing architecture."
