Japanese design firm Sou Fujimoto Architects has just unveiled the official look at the ongoing construction process of the Grand Ring. This is a large wooden structure that surrounds the pavilions at the upcoming Expo 2025 Osaka. The images showcase the process that is being built on the artificial island Yumeshima in Osaka Bay ahead of the international fair.
The founder of the studio, Sou Fujimoto speaks about the event as a change for a 'wonderful unity' in a time of global instability. He shared with Dezeen, "Expos bring all the wonder of each different country and then stay there for six months. And this format I thought is very precious, especially in this crisis of the global situation."
